Valley View Elementary School endeavors to provide field trips, workshops and assemblies for every grade level at Valley View to enrich the educational experience of all our children.

Previous field trips have included an educational trip to the UCLA Campus for our 5th graders, to encourage higher education; a visit to Pierce College Farm Center for our 2nd graders, which aligns with our Edible Garden learning; and journeys to various Spanish Missions, as part of the 4th grade California history curriculum. Other field trips include the Audubon Center at Deb’s Park for bird watching and hiking, whale watching off Dana Point, Griffith Observatory, the California Science Center, the La Brea Tar Pits, Cabrillo Aquarium, Discovery CUBE, Descanso Gardens, our neighborhood fire station and more. Each year provides different opportunities for learning outside the classroom.

Workshops have included Side Street's woodworking workshop, and some of the interactive assemblies that our students have enjoyed are Rockets and Robots and the Melody of China and Classical Strings music groups from the Music Center of LA.
